I was invited to attend the South West Christian Hospice banquet last Friday evening at Cobb Galleria and heard a very moving testimony from our president's mother, Barbara Bush. We hope to get permission from Mike Sorrow, former Director of SWC Hospice and the appropriate parties to bring this testimony to you my viewers on the Gravedigger Show very soon. I'll keep you advised. We also heard from US Senator Max Cleland's office that the Senator has accepted my invitation to give his personal testimony on the Gravedigger Show. A few details are still being ironed out, but it's going to happen. I will give you my followers, first crack to write me your questions of the Senator. Those who are not familiar with the past political leaders who have appeared on the show, go to www.gravediggershow.com and click "guest photos." This ministry will always put you, my viewers, in a position of strength to be heard. You will have a couple of weeks notice of the interview, so be diligent in opening your email. This week's show hosts Chuck Wade, State Director of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce (Drugs Don't Work) program. Chuck was a police officer for 15 years and served 13 of them as undercover narcotics agent. His testimony of life on the streets will enlighten you of the enormous problem that faces Americans with drugs and will give you a personal insight of why our war on drugs is a no-win situation. If you are a business owner and have employees, you can learn from this program how to save many thousands of dollars on your workman compensation insurance. For others you will hear a solution that makes sense from this host's perspective that could eliminate 70 percent of the illegal drug use in our state. We don't have the power to change another, but we do have the power to change ourselves. Get educated and start living in the solution instead of living in the problem. We are the problem, because we continue to ask others to fix our society. We must take responsibility individually and then join forces. Attention SATELLITE television viewers, programming on WATC TV 57 beginning in Jan 2002 will be on Direct TV, Prime Star or Echo Star if you have ordered local coverage! This will increase the Gravedigger Show coverage tremendously. The satellite industry has finally conceded to carry our broadcast channel. This ruling has something to do with the "must carry" rule that applies to all broadcast television and WATC TV 57 was been ignored. Praise the Lord for the victory. I will gladly inform you of the channel numbers when that information becomes available. Last week on the show we aborted yet another suicide attempt and three more souls prayed the sinner's prayer. What a awesome feeling it is to lead someone to the Lord. As this year comes to a close I wonder how many on this mailing has lead a stranger to the Lord this year? Or maybe another year has gone bye and were still counting our money or admiring our home and possessions and haven't found the time to share our faith with the lost. Think about It! Did you know that Depression affected 6 million seniors last year and only 10% received treatment? It"s also the leading cause of suicide in our nation. Did you know that women experience depression at twice the rate as men? My mother suffered from this, and it institutionalized her for most of her life. How do family members deal with it? Does this come about from a generational curse or brought on by sin as some ministers teach? What is manic- depressive behavior? What are the symptoms? Is there any hope for those who suffer? Is the statement " Pull yourself up from the bootstraps" helping your loved ones recover? Is there is difference between the mind and the brain? These are some of the questions I'll be asking my guest Steven Propst the local president of the Metro Atlanta Chapter of the (NDMDA) National Depressive And Manic Depressive Association. I was honored by the God First Atlanta annual prayer convention with The Majestic Eagle Award For Outstanding Humanitarian Achievement And Service, and before that sank in good, the Super Station TBS's Public Affairs Department wrote me I have been chosen as one of the "Super 17" that were being honored for my commitment to voluntarism and community service. When I think of the caliber of people who have won this award in the past like Truitt Cathy the founder of Chick-fil-a last year, I am at a loss to explain Gods grace in my life. Let me just say, "thank you Lord for seeing something beautiful in all my sins from that cardboard box." THERE'S NO OTHER SHOW LIKE IT! Hello saints, Joe Oreskovich here with a show & ministry update. Last weeks show with mother Louise Reese netted 4 salvations to the Lord on Friday and 2 on Saturday. Let's all praise the Lord for the souls we will meet in heaven one day. I pray you will be a recipient of someone's thanks for supporting this ministry and allowing them to have eternal life with us. There were some problems with scheduling of WATC TV 57's programming with regard to the Gravedigger Show. In short for the next two weeks the Gravedigger Show Saturday addition will be shown from 4:00 pm to 5:00pm and resumes back on it's regular 4:30 to 5:30 airings again Saturday November 3rd. The Friday airings at 10:00 pm will remain unchanged. For those who missed mother Louise Reese's testimony seeking a Saturday viewing we had no advance notice to inform you. Sorry! We have resolved this and will replay her testimony again this week on both the Friday and Saturday time slots. Remember the 4:00 start time the next two weeks on Saturdays. The Atlanta City Counsil President Robb Pitts interview had a slight glitch this week. The interview scheduled for a one hour show had to be cut short and ended up being a 30 minute show. I must figure out a way to present this interview in a hour time slot. It's not as easy as you might think, considering I must accommodate any requests from other candidates for Mayor of Atlanta with equal time. That's the law! looks easy! Hello saints, Joe Oreskovich the Gravedigger here with a ministry update. This week on the Gravedigger Show a real treat for my viewers. Mother Louise Reese the founder of WTMN christian television will make a very rare personal appearance on a television show. She is known as the only female african american to own a television station anywhere. Her testimony from being a poor Atlanta girl shelling peas for fifty cents a week to entertaining our past president in her home is remarkable. The Lord has used her to bring a very strong message of tenacity and perseverance to the body of Christ. It took fifty years for her last vision to come to pass. In the days of instant spiritual gratification being sought from so many christians this courageous woman shares her endurance of faithfulness. What can we learn from from her testimony? How about patience! Anyone need more of it? Let me give you a little insight on this strong woman of faith. Four hours before this interview she had to endure kidney dialysis. This procedure leaves her totally drained. She had made a previous commitment for the interview and when asked if she wanted to reschedule she said, "If I say I'm going to do something I do it." Oh how many excuses many of us use when it really boils down to doing what we want to do. We all should learn something from her. To tell you the truth, this just happened last week and I'm not in a real celebrating mood, but I owe this to you my fellow saints to keep you informed of our ministry growth together. It quite an honor. God bless, Joe August, 2001 Hello everyone, Joe Oreskovich the Gravedigger here again, with another show & ministry update. I apologize for getting this out so late in the week, but I'm flooded with personal requests for my time. I must share a honor and a unique way the Lord used this man from a cardboard box last evening with you my precious saints. I was invited to US senator Max Clelands birthday party in Buckhead. Of course many influential and wealthy people were there. Way out of the league of this man from a cardboard box's influence. The head count must have been around 600 people and I could tell from the cars and clothing, as well as the home of the hosts that held it, some people really live large. Music and entertainers adorned the premises, while wine and liquor were flowing. I can't say I was real comfortable in this surrounding. I never heard "Praise God" the whole night from anyone in the crowd. Not to say no one was a Christian, or to suggest this wasn't a real nice event, but it wasn't A PRAISE CONCERT either. I was out doing my thing, passing out flyers and approaching people to come eat and break bread with my fire and police officers for the Public Safety Suicide Line fund raiser at Rocky's. The singers and orchestra just finished singing "happy birthday" to Max and he was making announcements and introducing his loyal friends and supporters to the crowd over the microphone. Many had come long distances from Italy and Hawaii to be there for him. To my surprise, but to the Lord's Glory he said, "Gravedigger will you please come up here". After a few moments of the senators remarks of my life story and that he was looking forward to being on the Gravedigger Show, he said, " Gravedigger would you lead us all in prayer". I was so startled that I would have an opportunity to lead someone in that sophisticated arena to the Lord. A few moments of silence and maybe a little self reflection followed. Later that evening, after the prayer a 63 year old lawyer named Hank excepted Jesus into his life! Thank you Lord for allowing our broken lives to be used for your Kingdom! Here's the kicker, and favor the Lord gives each one of us. I had never met Senator Max Cleland or knew a single person in that crowd, except for the one who invited me. Someone must be watching our show! That really took me by surprise. Who would of ever dreamed the Lord had the whole evening planned to take the Gospel to them that live so large in Buckhead. The Lord is waiting on someone on this mailer to step out of the boat and walk on the water like Peter. If he can use me, he certainly can use you. Will you let him? This weeks show is with Tina Turner and Glen Simpson, we had to play a rerun of the program we aired 6 weeks ago on suicide. I simply ran out of time to do a new television show. This week on the Gravedigger Show the long awaited testimonies of Pastors Mirek & Linda Hufton with World Harvest Church in Roswell Ga. Talk about real faith, you're in for a blessing when you here what they had to endure serving the Lord. Let me give you a mini-glimpse of real faith in action. Not some ritual from the television or church pulpit that talks faith but can't walk it! Faced with a new church plant and no plush benefit or salary package, Mirek and Linda set out to be used of the Lord. Money was hard to come by and hospitalization insurance was a luxury they couldn't hold any more. The church was in a slow growth mode. Cynics from the christian community were telling them of their short-comings. You know the ones I'm speaking about, they have all the answers while they sit in the boat, while the very rare water-walkers are stepping out on the water. Mirek & Linda had a young family depending on them. Stress and false hope from many in the christian community was taking it's toll. Mirek was concerned about a cough and his wife being a nurse had him to see a doctor. CANCER with a three-month life expectingly was diagnosed. Faced with the decision to pass on medical treatment, because the hundreds of thousands of debt on a surviving spouse and children would crush his family, Pastor Mirek had a realisation after much prayer. Either the word and promises he and Linda preached were true, or he must throw his bible in the trash. What would you do? We all fear the word cancer, but it doesn't have the same impact until it happens to you, does it? This program is geared to addiction and it's effects on the loved ones in the family. Many millions are suffering from this ever reaching problem. I felt we needed to minister to them. This program will be shown in two parts. Friday and Saturday this week with part one, with part two aired the following Friday and Saturday. We will replay then both the final two weeks in July. Dr Kris Sperry was subpoenaed to appear in court, and Janet Oliva didn't feel we could properly educate my viewers on the signs of child abuse without him. This was a last minute cancellation, so we must play a rerun this week. I chose the Donnie Rogers interview to fill in. For those who missed his awesome testimony about running 38 crack houses in Miami and the physical tortures he endured in the mob, you won't want to miss this show again. This program is a blessing. Last weeks program with Pastor Ron Wren and William Merriweather a past street survivor blessed many and two more lives were moved off drugs into recovery. I believe that's 188 people now that have found a road to a new life since this program started airing 3 years ago. Thank you Jesus for this ministry and allowing me to live in that cardboard box, so it could help bring sanity into so many people lives. I'm not on the airway to bring a scripture sermon that has no lasting impression. In ten minutes most of us can't remember 95% of what we heard or saw on the Christian airway. Why is this so? The tongue moves too fast! People need to see our talk walk! I believe faith and works in action ministers with a resounding impression that retains warm memories and thoughts forever. Praise God for the Holy Spirit that led me to do that program. I was thinking today of how Satan kept telling me all week that my viewers would be bored with such a subject and how limited I was on professional expertise to discuss suicide, let alone plea for someone in my audience to call this ministry for help. Can anyone identify with the tactics Satan uses, to make us feel so unqualified? I believe if I would have listened to that voice in my brain, instead of flowing with the nudges of the heart and spirit, Jerri F. a 74 year old woman living in a retirement home in Smyrna Ga., and Mark, a 57 year old vagrant, would have possibly taken their lives. Thank you Jesus, for allowing me to become a water-walker for your glory! When I think back on my reluctance to do that show and take those calls, I see the devastation of faith and destructive fears that he (Satan) uses, to keep a lot of christians safe in the boat. We must become water-walkers like Peter to glorify the Lord. Many qualified sit in the boat, but water-walkers don't have the qualifications, and when the Lord's work is fulfilled by stepping out on the water in faith, everyone sees GOD'S glory and power. The way I see faith today, if we wait for everything to be right and/or have the qualifications to do the work, how does God get the glory? Other than the frivolous way many Christians say to GOD be the Glory, when indeed their flesh says "look at me and what I've done." I believe there could be a profound spiritual break-through for someone that reads this. Have your life filled with significance doing whatever He's called you to do by WATER-WALKING! ...........Believe me, it will be lonely, but when you turn around, those in the boat may not follow, but oh! how the Lord puts favor on your life! I'm thankful God answered our prayers for those who traveled and kept guardian angels around you to get you home safe. "Thank you Jesus" for their safety! Many of you watched the funeral of Sherry Lyons live on the local television networks this past Tuesday. I don't know if everyone was aware of the significance of where she was laid to rest at Forest Lawn in College Park. In the opening of my television show every week you might have noticed a guy from a cardboard box having a vision to build a memorial park for our public safety hero's. Sherry was the first in the line of duty death to be honored in that facility. For me personally it was a completion of a vision the Lord had given me over ten years ago. Everything that happened out there was what I dreamed including the helicopters fly over, exactly as the Lord gave it to me in that cardboard box. I had to fall to my knees at the end of the day! I'm still shaking in WONDER of his POWER! JESUS is alive and living in us! Do you Really, I mean Really realise that? I pray you will be given that experience if you truly desire it. Bless, Hello everyone: Joe Oreskovich the Gravedigger here. Last weeks program on Andrew Bowey who faced extradition to France had some positive results. The Federal prosecutors postponed the hearing until mid April 2001 on Monday. Praise God for the extra time. Thanks to all of you who wrote called and e-mailed for assistance to stop this extradition. For those who did nothing at all, you really could have done something small to help; this could have been your life and family. It does stress a point about my own life before my long nightmare in that cardboard box. I was pretty self-centered and made a lot of excuses for not sowing into people lives. When I did, I was expecting something that would make my own life better. I reaped what I sowed and ended up eating dead sparrows for daily food in that cold cold box of a home. Eighteen months was a long time to wait for help. You can bet today I have sown, and will continue to sow, into the people garden. I pray for those who have ears to hear what I didn't, years ago. At this moment I can't tell you what or who you will see on the Gravedigger Show. Say What!!! Gravedigger have you lost your mind? Why are you writing me to tell me who's on, and you don't know? Have you done a show or not? Answer: Yes!, but I have to shoot the show at WATC on Friday 3/23,so I'm writing this on Thursday and the show is taking many twist and turns. Let me explain! Last week I received a e-mail from Andrew Bowey, requesting assistance from the Gravedigger Show. I responded with a return letter to him, and I forwarded both letters to you my partners and friends. I was perplexed on my ability to help. I felt as my letter suggested a lack of God awareness existed in the Bowey letter. Andrew responded and I became convinced in my heart, he needed a friend to stand with him. Extradition to France and a 30 year prison sentence faced him. A custody hearing with the possible loss of his two children, and the above-mentioned case was to come to some conclusion in a matter of days. Here is a man who has lost everything because of his love of family. I pleaded to the Lord for direction, and help for Andrew. The Lord said to me, help him Joe! You've confessed to me and your audience you're a spokesperson for the little guy and stand for the people. This is my child...Go and help him! Can't argue with that. I asked the Lord to lay his hand upon me and open the doors. You see, Andrew is on house arrest and the media is all over the story, but for the wrong reason. No one in the media really cared what was happening to Andrew, they wanted the story. When the story dried up, you can bet the press would dry up. What if Andrew was extradited to France, for a 30 year prison sentence? Well, with our international audience we could keep his memory and story alive. Out of sight out of mind, the saying goes. Also if we help him, I'll have a opportunity to share my faith with him, I thought. You tell me my friends. If this were to happen to you, would you want me to stand for you? I'll ask you again another way. If you faced impossible odds going up against the system. would you like someone to help fight for you? I believe the answer would be yes, and you would prey many would come to your aid. I also pray you planted many seeds in that garden. You see, there's a difference. The bible says we reap what we sow. Many Christians sow money in a garden, to reap money. My question is, have you been sowing into a people garden? In other words, are many individual lives changed for the better, because of your one-on-one sowing into a life? If the answer is yes, I believe many will be there for you. If the answer is no, or rarely, get your pens and paper as well as computers ready to turn that around. We are going to have a Gravedigger Show that can impact your future as well as Andrew's. In my quest to bring hope to our hurting I came across Lois Collins, a precious woman who has taken in over 800 children and teens as well some adults that churches and society at large don't want to fool with. These troubled teens have some severe attitude problems, some are mentally, physically, and yes sexually abused by society and their parents. Many of these teens have drug and alcohol addicted parents, with very little spiritual guidance. Some are just going through adolescence and are out of control because no one will step up to the plate and say "I LOVE YOU, your life is important to me". What have they become in society eyes? GANGS !!!!!!!!!!! What will become of them if we don't at large step in and give them love? Members of GANGS, because that will become their family. Thank God for Lois Collins who developed the Insiders Teen Center who takes them in and even steps into the middle of two gangs with weapons drawn to stop them and bring them in to the center so they can have a place to hang out. She slowly but methodically gives them structure, love, trust, hope, and eventually in most cases leads them to a new found love Jesus. We were able to put enough subtle pressure on council to get those brave hero's a big chunk of what they were seeking. Praise God! I never dreamed out of that box, that the Lord would use me in such a way. It sure made for some interesting television. The Gravedigger Show, there's no other show like it! George says; "The Atlanta police got a 3% pension raise and we got nothing it's not fair," will you come to city hall on monday at 1:00 at speak to the city counsel? I ask you, have you ever got a drop what your doing phone call like that? Sure you have, I get about five a week. It really plays havoc and puts a strain on the people you work with to respond, especially television with all it's deadlines and preset schedules. What do you do? In the back of your mind you know it's going upset the applecart with your associates, but for me, I recall a a precious hand reaching into that cardboard box that cold winter night. On the end of that hand was the Word Of God and a firefighter. I will leave what happens next to your imagination. I would like to express my thanks to the men of the Norcross fellowship luncheon (NFL) for their prayers for last weeks show, and of course you who prayed for this ministry. Lord thy God with all thy heart thy------------ yes you got it. Is it possible we do not love ourselves, or could we be a little selfish and want to horde our treasure like our money in banks? I pray to God it's not that we don't believe the word or are own Salvation.. My AA meetings that I still attend tells us we can't keep what sobriety we have unless we give it away.
